File Menu > Make Encrypted Archive

The program allows you to save multiple files as self-extracting encrypted archives.
This feature can be used to securely transfer sensitive data to and from other users.
To extract the data, all you need do is double-click on the file in Windows Explorer,
and supply the password.
A cryptographic algorithm, also called a cipher, is the mathematical function used for
encryption and decryption. The program uses extremely secure algorithms.
Security of the algorithms is based on the password.
The longer and more random the password, the stronger the encryption will be.
To allow you to choose passwords, a random password generator is included with
the program - click the Get Password button to access this feature.
To make an encrypted archive,
-
Enter a name for the encrypted archive, or use the
default name. For whatever file name you enter, file extension “exe” is appended.
-
Choose an encryption algorithm from the drop-down list.
-
A list of currently open files is displayed in the Files List box.
Select files for inclusion in the encrypted archive by clicking on them, or
click the Select All button.
-
Enter a password. This must be at least 8 characters long,
and is case-sensitive. The longer and more random the password, the more
secure is the encryption. You may allow the program to generate a random password
by clicking the Get Password button.
Confirm your password by retyping it in the second Password box.
-
Enter an optional hint to help you remember the password.
However, remember the hint can be viewed by anyone trying to open the archive,
so don’t make the hint too obvious.
-
Select a file destination for the encrypted archive.
To change the destination to another or new directory, click the “…” button.
Click the Start button to begin the encryption.
A gauge will display progress, and a message will display when processing is complete.
